Kim Levin Biography

Kim Levin is a New-York based photographer who specializes in pet portraiture. Her company, Bark & Smile� Pet Portraits, combines her passion for photography and her love of animals.
Kim is the photographer and author of Why We Love Dogs, Why We Really Love Dogs, Why We Love Cats, Dogs Love� and Dogs Are Funny. Kim also photographed Dogma. A Way of Life, Working Dogs: Tales from Animal Planet's K-9 to 5 World, and Erin Go Bark! and For the Love You Give, both written by her husband John O�Neill. Kim�s books have sold over 230,000 copies to date and have been published in Japanese, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese.
Kim�s website, barkandsmile.com, has had over 350,000 visitors to date. The Bark & Smile� product line currently includes greeting cards, mugs, journals, calendars, e-greetings, postcard books, note cards and magnetic pads.Bark & Smile® donates a portion of proceeds to animal humane organizations.
She has appeared on Animal Planet, Fox News Channel, News 12 Long Island, and News 12 New Jersey. Her photography has been featured in Photo District News, Reader's Digest, Photo District News, Italian Elle, Bark Magazine, The American Kennel Club Gazette, Dog Fancy and NJ Monthly, as well as online sites such as Yahoo, pampered puppy.com, ivillage, fieldworkny.com, cleanhomejournal.com, Vetcentric.com and Salon.com. Kim has also had the honor of photographing The NYPD K-9 Unit, and some famous dogs such as Lassie, and Rags from ABC�s Spin City.
A passionate advocate of animal adoption, Kim has been donating her photography services and supported The ASPCA, Petfinder.com, and her local SPCA shelter for many years. Continuing her partnership with The ASPCA, Kim is honored to have photographed the ASPCA's annual calendar for three years, as well as the 2002 Adopt-A-Shelter Cat poster. Kim lives in Little Silver, NJ with John, and Charlie, their adopted border collie/greyhound mix.
